Catholics and Evangelicals

We should always seek peace and harmony when doing that will not violate God’s truth (Romans 12:18). There are a lot of issues upon which Catholics and Evangelicals agree, they are abortion, homosexuality, morality, and helping the poor. We should work together for the common good when possible. A Catholic should not refuse to serve in a soup kitchen because the cook is Evangelical. And Evangelicals should be willing to join with Catholics to oppose abortion on demand. In these ways, Catholics and Evangelicals can work together.

The Bible and murder

Title: Degrees of Murder According to the Bible: Understanding Various Types of Unlawful Killing

Introduction:
In the Bible, murder is viewed as a heinous crime, resulting in the unlawful taking of another person’s life. However, the Bible differentiates between different degrees of murder, indicating varying levels of guilt and punishment. The aim here is to explore the degrees of murder according to the Bible, highlighting relevant verses and providing an understanding of this important topic.

1. First-Degree Murder:
First-degree murder is the most severe form of homicide, characterized by premeditation and intentional killing. According to Exodus 20:13, the sixth of the Ten Commandments, it is stated, “You shall not murder.” This commandment establishes the foundation that directly states the prohibition against murder.

2. Second-Degree Murder:
Second-degree murder refers to the intentional killing that lacks premeditation. This type of murder often arises out of sudden anger, without prior planning or intent to kill. In Numbers 35:20, the Bible reads, “And if anyone lies in wait against his neighbor and kills him treacherously, you shall take him from my altar, that he may die.” This verse suggests that even an intentional act of killing without plotting is considered a grave offense.

3. Manslaughter:
Manslaughter is a form of unintentional killing that occurs unintentionally, yet due to negligence or recklessness. Exodus 21:13 states, “But if he did not lie in wait for him, but God let him fall into his hand, then I will appoint for you a place to which he may flee.” This verse reveals that unintentional killings still carry serious consequences, but it distinguishes them from intentional murder.

4. Death Penalty:
The Old Testament prescribes the death penalty for certain types of murder. Leviticus 24:17 asserts, “Whoever takes a human life shall surely be put to death.” The Bible emphasizes retributive justice when it comes to premeditated murder, establishing the importance of equal punishment for causing the loss of innocent life.

5. Mercy and Forgiveness:
While the Bible takes a strong stance against murder, it also emphasizes the importance of mercy and forgiveness. Jesus teaches in Matthew 5:7, “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.” This verse encourages individuals to show compassion and forgiveness, encouraging them to abstain from seeking vengeance or administering punishment.

6. The Role of Intent:
The varying degrees of murder, according to the Bible depend significantly on intent. Intentional acts carry more severe consequences than unintentional ones. Proverbs 6:16-17 states, “There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood.” This verse reflects God’s abhorrence towards those who willfully take innocent lives.

7. Consideration of Circumstances:
The biblical understanding of murder considers various factors such as motives, intent, and circumstances surrounding the act. For example, the Book of Deuteronomy states in 19:4-6 that if unintentional or accidental, the perpetrator may be allowed to flee to a city of refuge, thus avoiding punishment.

8. Repentance and Forgiveness:
The Bible also emphasizes the possibility of redemption through repentance. In Acts 3:19, it is written, “Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out.” This verse suggests that individuals who commit murder can seek forgiveness and make amends with God by expressing sincere remorse and embracing a new path.

9. God as the Ultimate Judge:
Lastly, the Bible teaches believers that God is the ultimate judge, capable of discerning the motives and hearts of individuals. Romans 12:19 reminds us, “Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, ‘Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord.'” This verse encourages individuals to trust God’s justice rather than taking matters into their own hands.

Conclusion:
Understanding the degrees of murder according to the Bible is crucial as it guides the severity of the offense and the corresponding punishment. While the Bible abhors any form of unlawful killing, it acknowledges differences in intent, circumstances, and potential for redemption.

Abortion

In the 2016 Presidential debates, Trump pointed out that Hillary Clinton supported abortion and partial-birth abortion. Clinton went to lawmakers in New York and asked them to make this new law which passed supporting abortion up to the day of birth with some stipulations. Abortion is legal but what about the method they use to kill the baby? Is it humane? People complain about how a criminal convicted of murder is put to death and say it’s not humane because there is pain. What amount of pain does a baby feel when they begin to rip its legs and arms off piece by piece? What amount of pain does a baby feel during partial-birth abortion as they stick their instruments in the back of its skull and start to suck its brains out? Shouldn’t there be laws on the method of killing the baby so it won’t feel any pain? A baby is innocent and has not committed any crimes but a convicted murderer is shown more sympathy. What is wrong with this picture.

Abortion

People are responsible for their own actions (James 4:17). If a person is irresponsible, they will be careless about the consequences of their actions.

Murder is defined as “the unlawful, premeditated killing of one human being by another.

The Bible tells us that life begins at conception See this article  https://www.gotquestions.org/life-begin-conception.html (Judges 16:17).  He is referring to himself as being what God planned.  King David says ” You formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb” (Psalm 139:13). David refers to himself as a person in the womb. Jeremiah 1:5 tells us He knew us before He formed us in the womb. Psalm139:13-16 speaks about God’s active role in our creation. Exodus 21:22-25 orders death for someone who kills a baby.

Abortion isn’t a matter of the rights of a woman to have a baby. The baby is already there and living. Abortion is a matter of life of a human made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27; 9:6).

A mother who decides to abort her child ending the child’s life has committed murder.

To vote or not to vote

The Bible does not specifically tell us that not voting is a sin, but to me the answer is simple, you either for God or you vote against God. Take the abortion issue, you either vote for the candidate who is against it or the candidate who is for it. God is against abortion (Exodus 20:13; Matthew 18:14; Matthew 19:18; Romans 1:28-32; Ecclesiastes 11:5). As you can see by reading all of these verses there is more than the abortion issue. Envy, slander, pride, greed, and foolishness to name a few. The only way to keep it out of this country is to vote it out. God is against all of these things. We need God to come back into this nation.

There are 90 million Christians eligible to vote, but 40 million don’t vote and 15 million are not registered.

Voting does make a difference and we Christians should vote.

Today’s world

Welcome to the world today…..
Where sex is free and love is expensive. Where losing Satana cell phone is more painful than losing your virginity. Where modernization means nudity, profanity, and if you don’t drink/smoke dope you’re out of fashion/style. Where boys stay boys and never want to become men, and girls become men to rule over them. Where if you don’t fool your partner it’s because you’re not clever enough. Where the bathrooms have become photography studios. Where pizza delivery is faster than the emergency response. Where people fear thieves and terrorists more than God. Where Worshipping God is difficult. Where temples turn into dating pools. Where lies become realities. Where the ladies fear pregnancy more than h.i.v., and babies are murdered so the ladies can escape. Where people become toxic when they speak the truth or you’re resisting to turn from what is actually toxic. Where perspectives and clothes decide the value of a person. Where money is more important than family and God. Where children are ready to leave their families for their love of the moment, rebellion and spite. Where the marriage covenant is no longer sacred or taken seriously. Where it’s easier to play house than to build a home. Where jumping from partner to partner for sex or attention is easier than waiting for the right partner for life.

Where love is a game.
Where evil no longer exists.
Whoever plays with the mind always gets happiness and who plays with the heart always hurts.
Modernity, love and liquid education…

The new generation of humanity.

II Timothy 3: 1-4
But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

Matthew 24:12-13
Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of many will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

There’s still hope in Jesus, it’s not too late!
